3 easy ways to grow language during bubble play
Pause & Wait Expectantly
Hold the closed bubble bottle, lean in, and wait. That expectant pause invites your child to look, reach, sign, or vocalize before you blow — giving them a reason to communicate.
Model One Word or Sign
Match your child’s level: sign or say “more,” “open,” “bubble,” “pop,” “blow,” “up,” or “down.” Touch your lips for the /b/ or /m/ sound so they can see and feel how it’s made.
Give Them Choices & Control
Once words are coming, let your child direct the play: big or small? up or down? more bubbles? Close the lid and wait for “open!” — every turn is a chance to combine two words like “more bubbles” or “pop up.”
